In 2013, we saw the changes of a freer people in parts of Smith County. After a wet/dry election, KE Cellars ceased to be the only location where closed containers of adult beverages like wine could be purchased. Dozens of new locations got licensed and thousands of selections entered our market. That brought us choice, competition and responsibilities. I always said competition makes us stronger and makes us work harder to stay the best.
And again, I want to commend the Kiepersol team for standing their ground like I expected. In the international wine arena, not only have they proven that East Texas can produce a wine that can stand with the biggest and the most prestigious, they also created a destination where locals can proudly entertain their guests and people from all over the world can come and enjoy a true Texas estate wine.
At KE Cellars we brought the estate wine to the people, but in the last year, we have seen a phenomenal increase in people coming to the estate. We made sure that the wine is available at multiple locations in East Texas and even the rest of Texas. At the end of this month will be the end of an era of KE Cellars. Thanks to all the proud patrons, we have outgrown the little tasting room and it's facilities at the winery on the estate. We are in the process of enhancing your destination experience in a brand new tasting room overlooking the original vineyards in the serene style that only cowboys and vinifera can create. Come see, come enjoy and stay Texas proud...we are.
