I often think about the by-gones and it is amazing how God built us. Kind of a forgiving system. We forget the bad, we forget the pain and the anxieties and the times we took things into our own hands. We forget the squabbles. And when we look back, we remember the bright, the beautiful, the new, the clear and the pleasant. It's almost a God-given recipe of how we should live daily and what we should hope for. We are made to be positive. We are made with hope. We are made with love and forgiveness. And tonight when we look back over the year that's in it's last minutes, we know that we were blessed. We know that we are rich in His love and we know we need to live like He programmed us.
New Year's always reminds me of puppy dogs - full of hope, bright eyed and cute, soft and furry, kind and needy, looking for us to care. Puppy dogs and New Year's both make our hearts flutter with excitement.
But the year will turn into a dog.
And it is all up to us how this dog will turn out. They give what they get. They don't ask questions. They are not concerned about tomorrow and everything you did wrong yesterday is in most cases forgiven before you realize you did wrong. This 2015 puppy can be your soul mate for years to come. This 2015 puppy can be your protector and give you all the love so unselfishly that you desire. Puppy love is hope. Hope looking at you. So this year look at yourself. Look what you can do to make it good and better. And a year from now, God-willing you can honestly say, I buried the negative vibes, enjoyed the positive, hugged and played, rejoiced and prayed, had a skipper (the master of the ship) for my life and trust that I can turn this puppy into a good dog. One that loves and cares, with kind things to share for the new year to come.
