Waking up at Kiepersol: The Inspiration Behind the B&B Rooms
At Kiepersol, each of the B&B rooms has a unique story, a name rooted in tradition and place. Let’s take you on a little tour, so you know exactly what awaits when you stay with us.
Imagine strolling from your dinner table, a glass of wine in hand, straight to your room… no driving. In 2000, we opened with five luxury rooms inside the restaurant building just for that purpose. We’ve named these rooms after famous wine regions from around the globe.
Our Internationally Inspired Rooms
The largest, and most sought-after room, is the Champagne Room, featuring its very own hot tub and a nod to the prestigious Champagne region in Northern France.
There’s also the Paarl Room, a tribute to South Africa's Paarl wine region, celebrated for its Shiraz, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Closer to home, we have the Napa and Sonoma Rooms, honoring California’s most iconic wine regions, as well as the Coastal Room, named after the scenic wine-tasting spots along Highway 1 on California’s coast.
The Stable House: Rustic Meets Cozy
Our next expansion came when we converted the old stables (once home to four Clydesdale horses!) into a charming retreat with five cozy rooms. They share a welcoming living room and kitchen area and are perfect for individual guest bookings or groups looking to explore Kiepersol together.
Each room here is named after a beloved South African resort town, bringing a vacation spirit to your stay. From Kingsburg, a coastal resort south of Durban, to Ramsgate, known for its river mouth creating bubbly waters, each name reflects the tranquil beauty of South Africa's eastern coast.
The Cottage: Where Nature Meets Comfort
Across from the Stable House sits one of my favorite spaces, The Cottage. This two-room retreat was originally designed for the estate caretaker. Nestled right into the woods, its expansive back porch makes you feel like you’re part of the forest—a perfect place to relax, unwind, and truly disconnect.
The Vines Chalet: Coffee With a View
Our latest addition is The Vines Chalet, an entirely separate house with three guest rooms, a shared living room, and kitchen. My favorite part? The back porch overlooks a portion of our vineyard, so you can literally wake up with coffee in hand, surrounded by vines. The rooms of the Vines Chalet are named after our spirits brands…Pierre’s, Jimmy’s, and Dirk’s. Pierre’s spirits are perfect for beachy and vacation concoctions with his aged rum and 100% blue agave spirit. Jimmy’s is known for his goggles and the iconic bourbon and whiskey spirits. And Dirk’s is the brand behind the martini spirits at Kiepersol…gin and vodka.
Waking Up to Gourmet Breakfasts
No stay at our B&B would be complete without breakfast—probably the best part! Each morning, you’ll head to our steakhouse restaurant, where you can enjoy breakfast at your own pace with gourmet selections. By far, the favorite is the Kiepersol Benedict—a twist on the classic Eggs Benedict, with breakfast potatoes and filet mignon. That’s how to wake up!
